RESIDENT VISAS FOR RETIRED PERSONS - PANAMA

The requirements for obtaining a PENSIONED TOURIST visa are the following:

1. Power of Attorney granted to an Attorney for filing the petition. It must include the name and citizenship of the interested party and family members. This document is prepared by the Attorney based on the information furnished by the interested party.

2. Police record of the interested party and of each one of the family members traveling with him(her) of legal age (18 years old), issued in the country of residence during the last two (2) years.

3. Evidence or document certifying his(her) condition as pensioned or retired, indicating the monthly income received. It must certify that the interested party receives a monthly income of not less than US$500.00, plus US$100.00 for each dependent.

4. The interested party retired or pensioned by private companies must submit evidence or document issued by the competent authority certifying that the company operates abroad, including payment voucher or receipt of said pension.

5. Marriage Certificate, if traveling with the spouse.

6. Birth Certificate of each one of the children or dependents traveling with the interested party.

7. Letter whereby the interested party takes over financial responsibility of his(her) family.

8. Medical Certificate of the interested party and of each one of the family members traveling with him(her), issued by a Panamanian Medical Doctor including laboratory exams (HIV/AIDS).

9. Sworn affidavit of personal history of the interested party and of each one of the family members traveling with him(her) of legal age (18 years old).

10. Four (4) photographs, passport size, of the interested party and each one of the family members traveling with him(her).

11. Copy of the passport in force of the interested party and of each one of the family members traveling with him(her), authenticated by a Notary Public.

12. The amount of US$100.00 upon acceptance of the visa.

13. Additional copy of all documents submitted, including the passport of the interested party and of each one of the family members traveling with him(her).

There is also a RETIRED ANNUITANT Visa.

The difference in relation to this Visa is that the pension of the interested party is not from a company, but from his(her) own resources. In this case, his(her) monthly income must not be less than US$750.000. The other requirements are similar.
These requirements can change without previous notice when deemed convenient by the General Directorate of Migration and Naturalization.
All documents from abroad must be legalized by a Panamanian Consulate or with an Apostille (The Hague Convention of October 5, 1961).

There is also an INVESTORS Visa, with similar requisites.
